The percentage of people aged 16-64 who are in employment
Indicator Overview
Data are derived from the Annual Population Survey undertaken by the Office for national statistics.
The Office for National Statistics undertakes a survey every year to estimate a range of things about the country’s population. They ask questions about people’s employment status. They use this information to estimate the employment rate in each local authority level every year. This information is then published.
We believe that employment for working age people brings independence and engagement in the county. So we believe that higher levels of employment are better than lower levels of employment.
